Clash Blogging: Law School Edition

I meant to link to this days ago but somehow forgot. I've mostly dealt with The Clash as a guide to US national security issues, but a while back Dean Falvy wrote an article making the case that they should be seen as exponents of the Critical Legal Studies school of skepticism about legal norms.

sweet link. i particularly liked this:

"Given today's political climate, Strummer would have faced a tough road to tenure."

In any event, I wonder if your readership knows how the CLS profs are fairing these days?

Strummer's views on the Rule Against Perpetuities were never recorded.

And although I love the Clash, and with all due respect to Joe (r.i.p.), we are hardly the poorer for it.

The 'Dumb' Factor

Apropos of nothing, SoCal: Did you know that Andrew W.K.'s father co-authored the nation's leading property casebook?

Also that John S. Hall, the lead singer of King Missile, is now an entertainment law attorney in New York?

Pretty weird stuff.

I didn't, JP. And I don't recall who authored/edited my property casebook. All I know is that he was a very, very cruel man. So it's no wonder Andrew W.K. rebelled.

CLS is basically dead as a movement. One of the founders, Mark Tushnet, was blogging this week at balkin.blogspot.com. The first generation of CLS was basically Duncan Kennedy, Mark Kelman, Mark Tushnet, Gary Peller, Girardeau Spann, William Joseph Singer, and a few others. Balkin and Jamin Raskin are probably the biggest 2nd gen. out there.

Tushnet has gone liberal (as opposed to radical, which he was basically from 1975-2000), the rest are all still active CLSers.

Duncan Kennedy, in his book, A Critique of Adjudication, says that CLS has transformed from a movement to a "position," an ideological disposition.

I had a post on CLS critiques of the warranty of habitability issue last week.

No problem. Part of the story of CLS is that it was challenged, in a largely friendly way, by a group of leftist minority law professors in the late 80s, early nineties. From that engagement, and based on the works of Professors like Derrick Bell, Mari Matsuda, Charles Lawrence, Patricia Williams, and Kimberly Crenshaw arose Critical Race Theory. Some of the exchanges between CLS and CRT (a 1988 Stanford Law Review symposium, iirc), are the best legal theory articles I ever read.

I could not help but to see that the fruits of the poison tabloid tree which, contain my name. have made it to other blog spots. The origins of the attacks on me come from the fecal elements of the underbelly having their roots in Boston's worst Tabloid: The Herald.
The headline of "doubt cast on ABC Broadcast" sets up another chapter of this affair. On 3/11/04 ABC ran a feature in which they showed a photograph of an etching taken in the Gardner haul. What ABC did not reveal were two important fatcs. One was that this photo was in their possession years prior to 3/11/04 and that their Senior Producer Vic Walters actaually had that very item in his hands. Not simply a photograph of it. The 'doubts' were based on the words of a Mark A. Gentile of Worcester, Ma. A former caretaker to both my child and myself. What was not reported was that he, using my crack addicted common street walker sister, had just embezzled over 100k in cash from my son and I which is now the subject of a federal suit being filed within a few weeks. Neddless to say, I was disappointed with the people I befriended at ABC for not defending me through reporting all the facts of their story. And as far as tossing the word "informant" around. Well, Mashberg folded faster than a lawn chair when faced with a Grand Jury. Any real journalist would have stuck to their guns. Not him. He lead the feds to everywhere I brought him like a bird dog. He attacks me to protect his own credibility. Which, after the Boston Globe had previously fired him for cribbing and 'source creating' landed him at Boston's tabloid instead of working at a real newspaper. Anytime someone wants to chair the debate I'll prove who the liar is. Meanwhile, last year when I tired of the Gardner's B.S. and contacted them and said just put the money on the table and I'll go and get you back what still exsists. They pulled the money off the table at that point. See, when their fake Vermeer came back it is them who would have the problem.
The Gardner "robbery" was a set up to get stuff out of that place which was bogus. They are whores crying rape. Don't buy it. I can tell you this much. The FBI is looking ,more closely at them these days than anywhere else.

Mr. Youngworths comments are simply nonsense. His repeated rantings prove that he is a disturbed convicted criminal.

"REDEMPTION"
I wanted to let the world know that after Tom Mashberg's climbing on my back after his dismissal from the Boston Globe for source creating, a Boston Herald custom of hiring the Globe's fired liar's, the world will know who the liar is very soon. A lie will only get you so far but a fact last for enternitity.
