Osama's Got No Chance

Today I was inside the actual Capitol building for like the third or fourth time since I moved to town. The way this always seems to work is that when you're going in, you need to enter through some weird hard-to-find sidedoor, but on the way out you get to walk down the main steps which are quite grand and offer this awesome view of the National Mall and all just seems very "inside the Beltway." Anyways, I stepped out this morning, taking in both the grandeur and this morning's splendid weather when, just to bring it all together, I spied in front of me a really cute, petite blonde chick carrying . . . a giant black machine gun. Hott. The Capitol Police is really stepping things up.

So, Frist and Hastert are taking after Colonel Qadaffi? Great idea. And you people don't think Republicans aren't improving this country. Sheesh.

Might I suggest not calling the nice lady with the big gun "a chick" to her face?

This is what happens when you ban mace and pepper spray.

Hey, say what you want about Qadaffi, but the man's got flair.

If this works for you, Matt, then... visit Israel. Most flattering uniforms ever.

Huh: My colleagues and I passed a guy on Pennsylvania Avenue NW carrying a bazooka on our way back from lunch. Sadly, he was not hot. I never meet hot men.

Are you trying to say that Valerie Plame has found a new gig?

I hope you didn't take Chris's advice w/ regard to the basketball blogging (B&S thread) -- I very much enjoy what you have to say.

flippantangel, what was this guy doing with a bazooka?

Yes, the Israeli uniform is quite attractive, don't know if they still have the commando sweaters, but it does make the chicks look hot. There was a photo exhibit at the National Gallery a few years ago (a photographer from, I think, Belgium but can't remember his name) of Israeli girls, just before they were drafted and then the same girls just after their basic traning.

Don't know if it was from all of the running and push ups involved or the nice uniforms, but a few months in the army amped up the looks for all the girls. I'd imagine it does the same for guys who go through army training. One small reason to support a draft (fun to imagine a politician endorsing the draft on that basis).

Neil,
I actually, had an 8th grade classmate who brought a (unloaded) bazooka to school-- it was a LAW (Light AntiTank Weapon), folds up and fits in gym bag. I remember being quite impressed at the time. Looking back, I suppose if he'd been caught it would made headlines.

Of course the statute of limitations has expired, but that guy is now active in politics, so when I tell people that story I always leave his name out of it. If he ever runs for Congress, probably not the sort of human interest detail he'd want out there.

Well, beowulf, that story might be able to get him some NRA money...

I dunno. He was in military dress and my office is close to the FBI, etc. Not just some random dude with a bazooka, though.
