Unspinning the Gaggle

Joe Klein's latest column doesn't contain a ton of insightful new information, but it performs a very valuable service. He was at a Scott McClellan press gaggle, which is par for the course for an important journalist. He asked a reasonably tough question, which is also par for the course. Then McClellan responded with some nonsensical spin. Par for the course. But then Klein did something unusual, he wrote a column about how he asked a reasonable question and got nothing but nonsensical spin in return. That McClellan delivered nonsensical spin is not, of course, exactly an enormous news break, but unless and until Klein's response to nonsensical spin because par for the course, nonsensical spin as a response to questions always will be.
