Subvert The Dominant Link Hierarchy!

Brad Delong suggests we do it by just straight-up recommending a few lesser-read sites we like. I'm going to assume the worthies who just won Koufax Awarda are already getting some much-deserved attention, and focus on other possibilities. Some of these sites I've been trying to link to in "normal" posts, others are pretty different in topic and tone and so don't get much links, but are still well-written, interesting, worth reading, etc. Thus:

• Liberals Against Terrorism and the overlapping Chez Nadezhda group.
• Julie Saltman.
• Phoebe Maltz.
• Bitch, Phd
• Brad Plumer.
• Lawyers, Guns, and Money.
• Profgrrrrl.
• Alina Stefanescu.
• Eric Umansky.

That's off the top of my head, and I don't actually have a precise idea of how popular some of these (and other) sites are. I'm going to try and do this regularly, and hope others will, too. There's a sort of imperfect duty to try and promote newer/lesser-known sites and for whatever reason (I think it's the contrast between Andrew Sullivan's blog enthusiasm and Josh Marshall's blog skepticism that drives the cultural difference down the chain) we don't do so much of it on the left.

UPDATE: Josh gets in the act with a rare link to humble blogger. And, as Petey points out in comments, Mark Schmitt's Decembrist is consistently brilliant but I left him off the list since I feel like I wind up linking to an extraordinarily high proportion of his individual posts.
